80 years of the Partition of India
Call for contributors to a new South Asia Gallery project
Manchester Museum is inviting artists, creatives, storytellers, community members and anyone with ideas to share their proposals for a new project to mark 80 years since the partition of India, which resulted in the formation of two independent states, India and Pakistan.
This is a opportunity to explore and share stories, memories, experiences and reflections connected to partition and its ongoing impact. We are looking for ideas that can be developed for the South Asia Gallery project space, with the possibility of creating a digital project, a project with digital elements, an installation, an exhibition-style display, a performance, or something completely different.
The project will be showcased in the South Asia Gallery in July 2027 to mark the 80-year milestone.
At this stage, we are open to ideas and want to hear from you about them. Please also note that this is a paid opportunity.
How to share your idea
To submit your expression of interest, please complete this form. You will be asked to provide more information about your idea at a later stage.
