Adults
Connect with ideas, people and stories that matter to you. Our adult programmes create welcoming spaces for conversation, learning and reflection, shaped by our communities and inspired by the things that we care for.
At Manchester Museum, you are invited to take part in activities that support curiosity, wellbeing and meaningful dialogue. Whether you’re joining a talk, sharing time with others or deepening a personal interest, you’ll find opportunities designed with adults of all ages in mind, including activities designed especially for people aged 50+. You can move at your own pace, spend time with the ideas and stories that resonate with you most, whether that’s quiet, social or creative. We aim to offer thoughtful, accessible experiences that value your perspective and contribute to a caring, inclusive and imaginative community.

This is a space for people to come together to learn, share ideas, build communities and make plans. You’ll meet education groups, charities, artists, writers, social enterprises, staff and students working collaboratively with a shared commitment to environmental and social justice. It is usually open to visitors 2-4pm Tuesday-Sunday.

There are spaces throughout the museum to gather and connect. At the heart of the South Asia Gallery, floor 1, is a room for small-scale performances, films and participatory activities. In the Chinese Culture Gallery, floor 1, beneath a night-sky constellation, is a space for people to meet for conversations and performances.
