ACROSS THE MUSEUM

A day full of energy, warmth and generosity that you really won’t want to miss, marking the most important festival in the Sikh calendar.

Organised in partnership with Manchester Sikh Foundation and Feed My City, our Vaisakhi celebration includes exciting performances, workshops and a Langar, where you can enjoy a free, nourishing vegetarian meal. It’s open to all, regardless of faith or background.

Vaisakhi marks the formation of the Khalsa, established in 1699 by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. It commemorates the initiation of the Panj Pyaray, the first five beloved ones who demonstrated unwavering commitment to justice, courage, and righteousness. The festival embodies the Sikh values of truth, compassion, and community, principles that will be at the heart of our celebrations.

Part of our Manchester Museum Celebrates event series, building connection and understanding through vibrant cultural celebrations.
