Lahore to Longsight vinyl album launch

FREE | Book online

SOUTH ASIA GALLERY, FLOOR 1

Celebrate 25 years of Aziz Ibrahim’s pioneering British Asian album Lahore To Longsight with the release of a double vinyl edition.

Aziz is one of British music's most distinctive guitarists. Born in Longsight, Manchester, to Pakistani parents, his playing carries the heritage of two worlds. Fluid, emotive, and always reaching beyond genre boundaries, his sound is immediately recognisable.

Best known for his work with Simply Red and Stone Roses, he’s also a solo artist with a deeply personal vision and one of the incredible co-curators of our South Asia Gallery. As a member of the South Asia Collective, Aziz’s story is on permanent display within the gallery, as well as a copy of Lahore To Longsight.

At this special launch event, enjoy live performances, a signing session, DJ sets and vinyl sales in the Museum shop. As well as the artist himself, it’ll feature DJ and digital performer Johnny Jay, tabla and vocals by Dalbir Singh Rattan, and dancer Kanchan Maradan.
