EXHIBITION HALL
Curious about our changing climate and how it affects us?
Get up close to a selection of Manchester Museum's objects which tell us stories about our changing world. Over drinks and snacks we’ll chat about climate and nature, find comfort in our shared experiences, and learn from different perspectives.
A Climate Café is an action-free social space. No knowledge about climate change is needed. For the Intergenerational Café we particularly encourage the participation of students and people aged 50+.
Why Climate Cafes ?
Changes to our climate and natural systems are putting huge pressure on our home, planet earth. These shifts threaten our way of life and the wellbeing of all living beings. In response, many people are experiencing rising levels of anxiety, fear and overwhelm.
Climate Cafes create spaces to navigate these emotions together, in solidarity with a global community already experiencing the impacts. They offer a supportive environment where we can share openly and honestly, reflect on our experiences and consider how we can come together to build a more sustainable world.
The Manchester Museum Climate Café programme has been developed with the support of the Climate Psychology Alliance.
Tickets are free and include drinks and snacks (including vegan and gluten free options). Book online via Eventbrite, by emailing maria.ramosacevedo@manchester.ac.uk or by calling 07818 578 474.
If you can't make this date we host regular Climate Cafes every couple of months at Manchester Museum. Check our Eventbrite and What's On listings for future dates.
