This vibrant free one-day festival is packed with fun, interactive activities for all ages, and takes place across the University of Manchester campus including Manchester Museum.

Whether you’re curious about the latest scientific discoveries or passionate about arts and culture, there’s something for everyone.

Looking for Languages Trail

From 11am

The Linguistic Diversity Collective invites you to join us for some family-friendly fun at Manchester Museum. Grab your activity sheet and follow the language-themed trail around the museum’s enchanting collections, thinking about your own language(s) along the way.

From 11am
Main Hall, Ground Floor.
Free, drop-in, family activity.
Perfect for children aged seven and over, together with their parents or carers. Younger siblings are welcome too.

 

Paper Blessings – family craft workshop

A 3D Paper Art Journey into Chinese Symbols

Discover the rich meanings behind traditional Chinese symbols through the creative art of layered paper design. In this hands-on workshop, participants will craft their own 3D paper blessing cards using Chinese characters and paper cuts that represent positive wishes such as health, beauty, peace, and happiness.

You can turn into a card to bless a friend or to keep as a reminder of your own intentions.

Paper Peppered Moths

Create your very own paper peppered moth, and find out more about the effects of air pollution on the peppered moth throughout the nineteenth century.

Visit our Silent Skies exhibition (Floor 2) to find out what local Community Action Group Ardwick Climate Action have done in relation to air pollution.
