Egyptian gods: A family affair
Part of the Collection Bites series of lunchtime talks
This Collection Bites talk will take you on a journey through the history of the mythology of some of Egypt’s most well-known gods, including Osiris, Isis and Set.
Manchester Museum houses one of the UK’s largest collections of Egyptian and Sudanese objects. The Museum’s Egypt and Sudan gallery uses some of these extraordinary items to illustrate both everyday life and preparations for the afterlife. This talk will give you a closer look at some of the Museum’s Egyptian and Sudanese objects and stories that are not on currently on display.
Collection Bites is an adult programme, however the content is suitable for all ages. The talks are approx. 30 minutes. They take place on the first Wednesday of each month in Manchester Museum’s Research Studio on the Second Floor (accessible by stairs or lift).
Please note: Tickets are very limited. If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your booking through Eventbrite, or email museum@manchester.ac.uk to let us know, so we can offer your place to someone else.
