hello future

Our exciting £13.5 million transformation hello future is underway

Coupland Street partial closure

Coupland Street will be closed between the temporary Manchester Museum entrance and the Rutherford Building entrance from week commencing 7 October 2019 until October 2020, for Health and Safety reasons. We apologise for any inconvenience during this period.

During this time Manchester Museum’s exciting £13.5 million transformation hello future will be underway, working towards becoming more inclusive, imaginative and relevant to the diverse communities we serve. hello future will create a new Exhibition Hall, South Asia Gallery, Chinese Culture Gallery, the world’s first Centre for Age Friendly Culture, and a new entrance with visitor facilities that focus on inclusive accessible design.

We are open during our transformation and look forward to welcoming you to a bigger and more wondrous Manchester Museum in 2021. Until then, we are working with local communities and businesses to take the collection out on the road. Keep an eye out for objects as they pop up in all sorts of spaces and places.
