Manchester Museum has begun an exciting period of change

hello future is a major project to develop and transform the museum to bring more wonder and inspiration from around the world to visitors.

From October 2018 until 2021, there will be extensive redevelopment work at the Museum as we start to build a new two-storey extension; creating new galleries, a new entrance and shop. This means that there will be changes to our usual programmes and some of our galleries will be closing.

From 1 October our Archaeology, Ancient Egypt, and Manchester Galleries will be closed, and we will no longer have a lunch room or school cloakroom space. Note that Living Cultures and Money are already closed.

Our Natural History galleries will remain open (Fossils, Living Worlds, Nature Discovery, Natures Library and the Vivarium).
