Variety of Life Festival
with Pennine Mencap
Join Pennine Mencap for a day of music, movement and making.
This will be a vibrant celebration of the natural world, brought to life through song, dance, poetry, and hands-on creativity! Inspired by some of the amazing animals you’ll find at the Museum, this special event invites families to connect with nature through stories, art and imagination.
Crafts Activities
Make your own animal-themed shaker instrument using recycled materials, then decorate it to match your ‘spirit animal’… Will you be a polar bear? A flying lemur? A red panda? Let your personality guide you!
Live Performances
Enjoy a lively mix of music, movement and poetry from our inclusive performance group, featuring choir songs, dance pieces, spoken word and storytelling, all woven together with playful energy and powerful themes.
