Nepal Day
Nepali Everyday Belonging and Diversity
After the success of last year’s Nepal Day, we’re bringing this joyous celebration back for a second edition, in collaboration with Manchester Nepali Samaj.
The theme for this year is ‘Everyday Belonging and Diversity’ and this family-friendly event will include:
- A temporary exhibition showcasing everyday domestic items, artefacts, and objects (e.g., musical instruments, sculptural artwork, jewellery, cooking/culinary items, fabrics/clothing) that are meaningful to members of the Nepali-speaking diaspora community.
- Children’s and family activities, cultural performances and yoga, representing Nepal’s regional, socio-cultural, linguistic and ethnic diversities.
- Audio-visual presentations and photographs highlighting Nepal’s cultural and natural biodiversity, with a special digital exhibition on ‘Insects of Nepal’.
