How to borrow from the Museum
It’s never too early to start an informal conversation about borrowing from the collections.
It’s never too early to start an informal conversation about borrowing from the collections. If you have something in mind then first points of contact are: Gillian Smithson, Gallery & Museum Registrar, email@example.com or Jamilla Briggs, Collections Access Officer, Jamilla.firstname.lastname@example.org We can point you in the right direction to make further research.
To make a formal request we require a minimum of 6 months notice from the point of request to the start date of your exhibition. A formal request can be either in the form of a letter to our Director, Esme Ward or by using our Loans request form. We use this time to consult with curators, conservators and to prepare the object(s) for display.
If it is the first time you have borrowed from us you will be asked to give some information about your organisation via this form (UKRG Facilities Report). See here for our conditions of loan (conditions of loan) and you may wish to look at this document to which we subscribe Museums Association’s Smarter Loans Initiative
We look forward to hearing from you.
