Rare tadpole is new to science
New collaborative research led by Manchester Museum, part of The University of Manchester, has resulted in the first scientificdescription of an extremely rare tadpole.The Cruziohyla calcarifer, also known as theSplendid Tree Frogor Leaf Frog,originates from Ecuadorand is extremely difficult to observe in the wild. Less than 50 adultspecimenshave ever beenfound,and fiveof its tadpoles are currently being housed at Manchester Museum.

Nomad Exhibitions becomes first exhibition producer to join UN climate initiative
Nomad Exhibitions, a leading Edinburgh-based exhibition producer and designer, becomes one of the first arts organisations in the world to sign up to the United Nations Climate Neutral Now initiative. For Nomad, this pledge solidifies their commitment to tackle climate change and they hope to set the precedent for other stakeholders in the industry to join this important scheme.

Carbon Literate museums are the future: 'Roots and Branches' project receives public funding
Manchester Museum, part of The University of Manchester, Museum Development North West (MDNW) and the Carbon Literacy Trust are delighted to announce that they have been awarded £136,750 of Arts Council England (ACE) National Lottery Project Grant funding for an ambitious two-year partnership project, ‘Roots & Branches’, which aims to accelerate the museum sector’s ability to respond to the climate crisis.

Manchester Museum receives grant to support neurodiverse children and young adults
Manchester Museum receives grant to support neurodiverse children and young adults Manchester Museum, part of the University of Manchester, has been awarded £43,118 by The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Digital Innovation and Engagement Fund to launch an innovative project supporting neurodiverse children and young adults. The 12-month project will see the museum work collaboratively with students from Grange School, a local school for autism, and Project Inc., a specialist college for creative education, to create Digital Touch Replicas (DTR) and web-based resources for the museum’s ‘Golden Mummies’ collection.
