Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update – updated 19 July 2021

Manchester Museum is now open Wednesday – Sunday 10am – 5pm.

If you are planning to visit us you should pre-book tickets as capacity is still limited. You don't need to book to visit our shop and café.

The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, community and staff is always our priority.

What we’re doing to keep you safe:

·       Regular cleaning throughout the building

·       Providing hand sanitiser

·       Staff are wearing face coverings

·       Staff are on hand to help

How you can do your bit:

·       We encourage you to wear a face covering inside the museum if you can

·       Follow our one-way system and keep your distance where possible

·       Wash and sanitise your hands regularly

Like all culture venues across Greater Manchester, we’ve decided to maintain some COVID19 safety measures in accordance with industry best practice and guidance issued by the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions. We want to welcome more visitors to the museum, but also respect those who may still be anxious.

We will continue to review our approach in line with Government guidance and feedback from visitors.

Greater Manchester Cultural Venues - COVID-19 Pledge

“As cultural venues across the city-region begin to re-open their doors and spring to life once again, as a sector, we want to reassure audiences and visitors alike that your health and wellbeing is our upmost priority. No two venues will respond to the introduction of Stage 4 of the Government’s ‘Roadmap out of Lockdown’ in exactly the same way. Our venues are different sizes, shapes and operate in different ways appropriate to the needs of those individual businesses. What is consistent, however, is the thrill and excitement our artists, production companies, staff and volunteers feel at the thought of being able to share great art and culture with you again face to face. It has been a tough old time, but we’re back, side by side and cannot wait for you to join us.”
