By public transport

By Bus:

The Museum is served by many bus routes, including the 41, 42, 43, 48, 111, 85, 86, 147 and 250. If getting the 41, 42, 43, 48,111 or 147 (towards Piccadilly Gardens), get off at The University of Manchester Students' Union stop, turn right up Oxford Road and the Museum is a couple of minutes away. If getting the 85, 86 or 250 (towards Piccadilly Gardens), get off at the Royal Northern College of Music stop, turn right onto Oxford Road, go under the bridge with the shopping precinct on your right and the Museum is a few minutes walk away. By Rail:

The nearest station is Oxford Road. From Oxford Road station, turn right along Oxford Road and walk for about 15 minutes until you get to the Museum or take any bus heading away from the city centre. From Piccadilly Station take service 147 from the Fairfield Street exit. From Victoria Station, take the free Metroshuttle bus number 2 to Oxford Road Station and follow the directions above.
