The Evolutionist
A Darwin extravaganza at The Manchester Museum
Until 30 August 2010
Free entry
Charles Darwin gathered the evidence that living things change over time - they evolve. Since his time, this idea has formed the basis for the science of biology. Darwin also suggested how evolution happens; his discovery of evolution by natural selection has been called "the single best idea anyone has ever had".
But who was the person behind these ideas of evolution and natural selection? What exactly are they and what relevance do they have to all of us today? Why is evolution so hotly contested by some people yet so universally accepted by biologists?
Find out for yourself in our extravaganza of exhibitions and events for all ages.
