Getting Here

The Museum is on a major bus route and easily reached via public transport, or on foot or bicycle

Manchester Museum is a walk, bike ride or bus journey from Manchester city centre, close to the Whitworth and the University of Manchester campus of which we are proud to be a part.

Walk: 15-25min from Manchester city centre. Flat paved route.

Bike: Secure bicycle parking can be found close to the Museum, on Coupland Street, Oxford Road and in our courtyard.

Bus: 15, 41, 42, 43, 140 – 143, 147. Ask for bus stop nearest Manchester Museum, Oxford Road

*Tram: nearest stop - St Peter’s Square (plus 10 minutes on the bus or 20 minutes on foot) See GMT metrolink website for further details.

Train: Oxford Road (plus 5 minutes on the bus or 10 minutes on foot)

Parking: Booth Street West (Car Park D - M15 6AR )  Monday-Friday, 6am-midnight: £3 for 3 hours. £5 for 6 hours. £2 after 4pm until midnight  Saturday and Sunday, 6am-midnight: £2 all day
NB Access to the Car Park D (Booth Street West car park)  has changed and is now from Higher Cambridge Street for the duration of development work at the Alliance Manchester Business School.

 

Visitors with limited mobility can park on Bridgeford Street (limited spaces).
