Dinosaur Explorers
Say hello to Stan the T.rex and become dinosaur hunters whilst following the footprints around the Fossils gallery. What will you uncover on our dinosaur dig.

Animal Explorers (New)
Polar Bear has a problem, some of his animal and bird friends have gone missing! Can you help him to find them? Come and explore a selection of our galleries as you embark on this exciting mission to find his missing friends! Available from November 2011.

Dinosaur Detectives
Become a dinosaur detective and solve an ancient dinosaur murder mystery. A teacher's pack is available for this session.

Gallery Explorer Sessions
For teachers wanting a short well-focused visit.

For up to 32 children
90 minutes, £3.50 per pupil (minimum charge £50)

Fossil Challenge (New)
Experience the uncertainties involved in using fossils to reconstruct ancient life. Based on the Fossils gallery, pupils will interpret evidence and realise how their ideas may change as new discoveries are made. 

Alive with Cultures! (New)
A new school session for KS2 linking the Museum's Vivarium with our Living Cultures gallery. Explore other cultures, animals and habitats. Available from January 2012.

Discovery Sessions
For teachers wanting to develop an extended project linked to work back in the classroom. Includes discussions, object handling, movement and drama.

Habitats and You (New)
How many species are there? How are living things suited to live where they do? Why do some have tails, long legs, claws or beaks? Explore the variety of life, its beauty and diversity in our new Living Worlds gallery. Discover how living things adapt to their surroundings and try your hand at creating your own creature to live in particular habitat. Get hands-on with our natural history collection, find clues from the gallery and learn about the future challenges for all living things. Available from November 2011.

Scales and Tails: Learn Live! (New)
Live reptile and amphibian session for young people with additional needs: Frogs, Lizards, Chameleons and Snakes! Come and discover more about our live reptiles and amphibians on a specially guided handling session led by our Curator of Herpetology in the Museum's Lifelab or Discovery Centre rooms. Discover up close what these animals are like, learn about their habitats and how they are adapted to live there. Do they have scales? Are they slimy? What do they eat? How do they move? 

These sessions are free, fun and on a first come, first served basis. Once a month for groups of up to 10 young people. 30 minute session.
