Explorer Sessions

For teachers who want a short well focused visit.

For up to 60 children,
90 minutes, £3.50 per pupil (minimum charge £50)

Unearthed: Ancient Egypt (New)
Learn the practical skills of archaeology on a journey into the past, explore the wonders of ancient Egyptian life and meet Dr Digby* 'the coolest man ever to explore the burning deserts of Egypt'. Use creative clues to uncover the reasons behind why we collect these finds today and develop you own inquistive style to explore past and present archaeology skills. Through role play, discussion, handling and recording tasks you can begin to step into the shoes of the ancient Egyptians and relive their daily life, understanding their beliefs, working life, language and learning. * Dr Digby AKA Terry Deary author of Horrible Histories and Egyptian Tales

A new school session for KS2 linking the Museum's Vivarium with our Living Cultures gallery. Explore other cultures, animals and habitats. Available from January 2012.
