Youth Board

Manchester Museums Youth Board is an enthusiastic group of young people who volunteer at the museum. We meet at the museum at least once a month and are highly familiar with its collections and their importance. Over the past couple of years we have planned and delivered several events including a number of ‘Big Saturdays’, and we have contributed to gallery redevelopments.

It is a great opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes, explore the many aspects of the museum while meeting new people and having fun!

There are two Youth Board groups:  the juniors: 8-13 and the seniors: 14-20.

You can keep up with us via the Youth Board blog

For more information on how to join Junior Youth Board please contact Victoria Grant  (juniors)

Youth Board Museum Tours
Are you a young person (or even a not-so-young person!) who wants to visit the Museum but doesn’t know where to look first? As of our February meeting, we will be offering half hour taster tours around the Museum led by Senior Youth Board members. These will look at some of the Youth Board's favourite objects.
The tours will start at 1pm and will finish at 1.30pm on the second Saturday of every month, meet in the Museum reception!
