Gallery and Resources
The 3D reconstruction of the town of Kahun has specific system requirements, they are also very large files. This gallery is provided as an alternative resource, allowing users to view specific areas of the site and artefacts either prior to or instead of downloading the full reconstruction.
Within the town there are 82 separate '3D' objects. The Artefacts Gallery shows some of these objects together with digital photographs taken during the course of the database development.
The reconstructed town of Kahun has almost 400 separate doors you can open giving a variety of interiors. These are based on archaeological fact, which is why some areas of the town have been left empty, there is simply no record remaining of what was there.
Bibliography gives details of the main publications used as reference sources during this project.
Chronology gives a simple chronology of Egyptian Periods and Dynasties and shows the occupation periods of Kahun in relation to other major events and reigns in Ancient Egypt.
